Arm Yourself Against COVID-19 Featured Image

Residents in Stirling are being encouraged to Arm Yourself, in a major new advertising campaign to promote the COVID-19 vaccinations.

The new advertisements, featuring a variety of people with a band aid on their arm representing being vaccinated, reflect the step up in Australia’s vaccination rollout.

Member for Stirling, Vince Connelly MP, said the COVID-19 vaccine is the best way Australians can protect themselves, their loved ones and the wider community.

“This new and exciting advertising strategy has been designed to evolve in line with the vaccination program, especially as our Pfizer vaccine supply is bolstered.”

From Monday 19 July, Australia’s Pfizer supply will increase to approximately one million doses per week, meaning more Australians will have access to their COVID-19 jab sooner

More than 900 general practices around the nation are now administering the Pfizer vaccine with an extra 1,300 GPs coming on line by the end of July to assist with the roll out. Meanwhile, more than 5,000 GPs are offering Astra Zeneca.

“More than 9.6 million vaccinations have now been administered and importantly, those most at risk are increasingly being protected with three quarters of those over 70 having received a vaccine,” Mr Connelly said.

“I’m extremely proud of those in Stirling who have armed themselves with the vaccine and are taking the first step in protecting themselves and our community.

“I strongly encourage those who are not yet vaccinated and are eligible to do so to roll up their sleeve and make a vaccination booking.”
