Stirling locals will be among the next 900,000 people to benefit from access to ultrafast internet speeds, as part of the NBN Co’s next step in its $4.5 billion network investment plan.
These upgrades will enable access to download speeds of up to one Gigabit per second in Balcatta, Balga, Nollamara, Stirling, Tuart Hill, Westminster, Yokine, Morley and Osborne Park.
Work is already underway on the 200,000 premises included in the first two phases, with the NBN Co on track to upgrade two million homes by 2023.
Federal Member for Stirling, Vince Connelly MP, said not only will the investment provide faster internet speeds, it will also boost economic activity and employment in Stirling.
“The commencement of these works will create jobs for the Stirling community and support local businesses by allowing them to take advantage of the benefits that ultrafast broadband can provide.
“These faster internet plans will allow for 4K streaming on multiple devices concurrently, enhance the online gaming experience and better support Australians working from home.”
