About the Project
Lightning Park Recreation Centre is a sporting hub for hundreds of Noranda and surrounding suburbs residents and home to Noranda Hawks Junior Football Club, Noranda Senior Football Club, Morley Eagles Teeball Club and Perth Broncos American Football Club - meaning the grounds are used all year round.
Players, parents and spectators combined, Lightning Park welcomes upwards of 1,000 people to the centre every weekend. However, inadequate shelter means spectators are exposed to the elements - from rain during the footy season to the harmful summer sun during the teeball and American football season.
I recently met with Noranda Sporting Association President, John, and each of the club Presidents out at the centre to discuss the need for upgrading their main viewing area, specifically weather cover and more adequate seating.
It's important that in our community, facilities are accessible for people of all ages and abilities and there is adequate shelter for spectators.
A re-elected Liberal Government is the best way to get this much needed infrastructure in place.
I am fighting for funding to deliver suitable shelter and seating for spectators at Lightning Park.
Help me get the job done by signing my petition.
