About the Project

Every week, Sikh Gurdwawa in Bennett Spring welcomes more than 2,000 attendees.

The Sikhs have given so much to our community, especially throughout COVID, cooking and delivering meals to those in need during the height of the pandemic and continuing to do so for the homeless population.

It is not only a place for prayer, but also a hub for education, social gatherings and sport.

There are currently five netball teams and two basketball teams that share the same court at Sikh Gurdwara and compete at various community sporting events. However, the dilapidated facilities are unsafe and do not meet Netball WA standards.

The grounds have sufficient space for the courts to be replaced and a soccer ground, cricket nets and a volleyball net to be installed, as well as capacity for additional sporting teams. But the Sikh Gurdwara does not have the funding to make this happen.

I recently visited the grounds with Member for Hasluck, Ken Wyatt - together we want to deliver funding for these facilities that are in dire need of an upgrade.

A new sporting complex at Sikh Gurdwara will meet the needs of current sporting teams and provide a space for other local sporting groups to use.

We need your help to get this project off the ground!
