About the Project
Morley Noranda Recreation Club (MNRC) is home to Noranda City Football Club, Morley Bowling Club, Noranda Tennis Club, Morley Dart Club and Brumbies Country Music Club.
Together, the precinct welcomes more than 1,000 players, participants and members across these clubs.
Since 1977, Noranda City Football Club has been an integral part of the community.
It's where generations of local residents have played soccer for 45 years.
However, ageing facilities at Noranda City FC have lead to a drop in membership numbers across the precinct and has created a hurdle in attracting new members.
I have visited the club and it is clear that the dated change rooms are in dire need of an upgrade to meet new Football West standards, which includes installing a women's change room to cater to a rising demand for female participation.
After holding a roundtable with the Presidents and stakeholders of each club, there is a growing demand for these facilities which will not only meet the needs of Noranda City FC, but will also provide a space for all other clubs and members at MNRC to use.
Local sporting clubs and community organisations like the MNRC are the absolute lifeblood of our community.
With the change rooms in their current state, Noranda City FC and MNRC are having to turn away members and other community groups who want to hire the facilities - unable to meet social and cultural demands.
I am fighting for the Noranda City FC change rooms to be upgraded to include accessible male and female change rooms and toilets and seperate toilet and change room facilities for officials.
I need your help. Please sign my petition to get this project off the ground.
